Discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or transgender status), national origin, immigration status, disability, age (40 or older), or any shared genetic information (including family medical history or a history of any kind of psychological illness or trauma) and will not be tolerated by The Joyful Labyrinth or any of its contractual vendors and consultants. Complaints may be filed with The Joyful Labyrinth's owner Wendy Harbour (wsharbour@gmail.com) or through the Minnesota Department of Human Rights (https://mn.gov/mdhr/).

The Joyful Labyrinth will provide reasonable accommodations (changes to the way things are normally done at work) to applicants and employees who need them for medical or religious reasons, as required by law, but also seeks ways to go beyond compliance and welcomes dialogue about this with future employees and clients.

Any future employees can report discrimination to Wendy Harbour (owner) or any other person designated in the employee handbook. Discrimination complaints can also be made to the federal EEOC (https://www.eeoc.gov/federal-sector/filing-formal-complaint) or the Minnesota Department of Human Rights (https://mn.gov/mdhr/).

Clients and future employees will not be punished for reporting discrimination, participating in a discrimination investigation or lawsuit, or opposing discrimination.

The confidentiality of clients and employees who report discrimination or participate in a discrimination investigation will be protected to the greatest extent possible.

Any future managers or contracted human resources providers will be responsible for responding appropriately to discrimination and to report it to the owner of The Joyful Labyrinth (Wendy Harbour) or any other parties who are authorized to respond.

All complaints will be investigated and responded to within 30 days. Those making complaints are assured an investigation that is as prompt, thorough, and impartial as possible, with prompt and effective corrective and/or preventative actions as needed.

If an investigation finds that any of The Joyful Labyrinth's employees or contracted vendors have violated this policy, they will be dismissed, with the exception of the owner (Wendy Harbour), who will work with the affected parties to provide an outcome that is as mutually agreeable as possible, consistent with a restorative justice orientation.

Federal, state, or local laws may prohibit additional types of discrimination and/or require organizations to provide reasonable accommodations for reasons not listed here. Federal, state and local government websites may have additional information about these laws. The Joyful Labyrinth and its owner (Wendy Harbour) will make every effort to comply with these laws.
